Colorado’s marijuana market continues to break monthly sales records and is also on track to break another record by generating over $1 billion in sales this year. State records reveal that $127.8 million in – combined recreational and medical – marijuana sales occurred in September, making a new record for the third month in a row. In September of 2015, sales totaled $94.7 million.
The Colorado Department of Revenue shows the total sales for the first 9 months of 2016 at $974.3 million, according to The Denver Post. With three more months of sales to be added to this figure, 2016 will easily outdo 2015’s sales of $996.2 million as well as exceed $1 billion in marijuana sales.
Year-to-date sales at this time last year were $733.8 million, an increase of nearly a quarter-million dollars in just a year’s time.
